Taiz'e Advent Service

Last night I went to an Advent service at my church, Eastminster Presbyterian. It was a meditative service with candles and Taiz'e music - very different from the usual Presbyterian fare! We entered in silence and each lit a candle before the service began. I didn't know about Taiz'e music before this - it is repetitive and calming and sets the atmosphere for meditative prayer. I found the service to be an oasis of calm in the middle of the hectic holiday season.
