Graham Greene at Stratford
Tish and I got back from Stratford last night. It was a great trip but too short - next year we'll go for two nights instead of one. We stayed in a new hotel - the Queens Inn - which worked out well for us. It's a good location in walking distance of everything. And the weather was perfect.
We saw An Ideal Husband, Merchant of Venice, and Of Mice and Men. Graham Greene was Shylock in Merchant and was Lennie in Mice. The performance of Of Mice and Men was one of the best we've ever seen at Stratford - Graham Greene was so extraordinary in the play, and the rest of the cast was perfect too. The whole audience leaped to their feet and cheered for Graham and "George" at the end of the play.
We got really lucky at the border crossing too. It took us about an hour to get through on Friday morning from Port Huron to Sarnia and only half-an-hour to get through last night (we'd heard that the waits coming back were averaging 2-3 hours).
