Vacation
I'm at home this week on vacation while Dora recovers from her surgery (she had a growth removed from her abdomen - will find out by next week if benign or not). I had planned to sit out in the sun all week and read books, but since it has been raining since Sunday, I've had to revise my plans! I've been busy with home improvement projects - I cleaned out my gutters on Saturday (before the rain), and I tore out the carpeting in the guestroom and cleaned the hardwood floor. It was a lot more work than I thought it would be, but it looks really nice now (see pic).
I'm now working on the African quilts for Alazar and Endalkachu and hope to have them finished by the end of the week. I'm also reading a lot - just finished Invisible Prey by John Sandford (his usual Lucas Davenport mystery, but this one included quilts in the plot) and The Other Shulman by Alan Zweibel (a funny book about a middle-aged stationery store owner running the NYC Marathon - I really liked this book - read it!).
I've seen three movies so far this vacation: The Bourne Ultimatum, Becoming Jane, and Superbad. I recommend all three, but my favorite by far was Superbad (altho I did have to go to see it by myself and was the oldest person in the theater by about 30 years).
