Christmas quilt in progress

Setting blocks for the Christmas quilt I'm making in Block Exchange this year.

The yellow fabric on the outer edges of the setting blocks has little stars in it. I bought it to make a Christmas quilt years ago but didn't like the original pattern I tried out. The inner fabric is a "cardinals in snowy pines" Christmas print that Linda gave me. I think this setting block will work with the block exchange blocks I'm receiving.

  • I love your setting blocks, Ruth. Seems to bring all the other blocks together. I plan to butt my blocks, a there's enough action in the blocks themselves. Daisy

  • I may have to rethink my block --- I thought you were setting them block to block, so was going to use dark squares in the center and lights going around --- guess it will still work. I like your setting blocks --- and, Phyllie, I have trouble spelling that word, too.

  • Great idea Ruth! And we won't have to make more blocks next year. LOL Or are you going to have us make the setting blocks next time?

  • You're right, Lisa. You won't have to make blocks for this quilt again next year!
