Quilts to Sauder
Today I'm driving down to Sauder Village in Archbold, Ohio, to deliver quilts for the annual quilt show. I'm taking eight quilts: two from Phyllis O'Connor, two from Linda Kuhlman, one from Cindy Mielock, one from Daisy DeHaven, and two of my own. I'm putting in my Leaf Quilt wallhanging and the Maple Leaf quilt that I'm taking to England to give to Jan, our hostess in London. I finished the Maple Leaf quilt this week and sewed on the label yesterday - just in time for the show.
The show starts Tuesday and runs through next Sunday. We'll drive down again next Sunday to eat at the Barn restaurant, see the quilt show and the village, and pick up our quilts at the end of the day. It is always a fun trip. We start with the Mennonite buffet lunch at the Barn and then go to the quilt show. Linda usually wins a ribbon for at least one of her quilts (yay - Linda!). After the show, we tour the village, including seeing the baby animals (Cindy's favorite), buying fabric at the quilt store (Phyllis's favorite), buying fresh herbs (Linda) and eating ice cream (all). Sometimes we have time for a trip to the antique mall before picking up our quilts.
