Bamboo Koi quilt
I've been working on piecing my Bamboo Koi quilt this weekend.
Carol Schon brought a Bamboo quilt top to Debra's annual "Rereat" last February 08 (Carol was piecing the top for a class she's teaching). We all admired Carol's quilt, and a few of us decided to adapt the pattern to come up with our own variations on the Bamboo quilt design. I'm not sure how many of us are actually working on this project (Lori? Debra? Linda? Daisy? others?), but it will be fun to compare our Bamboo quilts at "Rereat" in Feb 09.
For my version, I'm using the Bamboo blocks along the sides, with pinwheel blocks and Koi fabric in the center. The beautiful Koi fabric and several other fabrics in this quilt were given to me by my sister-in-law Laura last year for Christmas. I think that the fabrics she picked out for me work perfectly with this design (thanks Laura!). I've added a few Japanese fabrics from my own stash, as well as a couple fabrics with Chinese dragons.

I like the way you are using the bamboo blocks. My two quilts are actually quilted and bound --- so unusual for me. I, too, am looking forward to seeing the other quilts.
