Books
Some of the books I've been reading lately:
Mysteries by Stuart Pawson - Shooting Elvis and Over the Edge. These are short police procedurals set in Yorkshire. Interesting to read, but not spectacular. I'd like to read more, but they're hard to find. I bought one in Canada when I was in Stratford this year and borrowed one through MeLCat.
Burglar books by Lawrence Block - Burglar in the Rye and Burglar on the Prowl. I'm late in discovering Lawrence Block. These Burglar mysteries are fun. I especially liked Burglar in the Rye because it was loosely based on J.D. Salinger's letters incident (a story I use when I teach copyright law).
Dean Koontz - The Darkest Evening of the Year. I hadn't read a Koontz novel for years, but I picked this one up because it is about golden retriever rescue. I didn't think this book was as good as his earlier novels, like Watchers or Strangers.
I'm now reading books about old bones - just finished Kathy Reichs' latest, Devil Bones, which I liked (she is always good - altho I prefer her books when they're set in Montreal - this was one of her NC books), and now I'm reading Jonathan Kellerman's latest, Bones.

I have reserved the Pawson books. Our library has over the edge, picasso scam and deadly friends.
