Another block for my St. Francis quilt
Here's the latest block for my St. Francis quilt. This is hand-appliqued by Ruth Farmer, and it is inspired by the line from the prayer, "where there is injury, pardon." Ruth writes about her block, "When one has received an injury, the receiver frequently suffers a period of darkness, which is identified by the purple color. When the receiver patiently seeks for a solution to the injury, it gradually subsides and abates to a new healthy level. This is identified by the line of green as it moves into yellow. The receiver has accepted the overlook and is liberated from this situation, moving on to a new beneficial state of being."
I think the block and the sentiment are absolutely lovely. Thanks Ruth! To see the other four blocks I've received so far for my quilt, scroll down a few posts.
