Eye of the Tiger/Mumbai

I revamped my "Eye of the Tiger" mini-quilt for the Sauder show by sewing it onto a new quilt I made, "Mumbai." I used fabric that Mom gave me for my birthday this year in the new quilt. I wanted to create a piece that showed two diverse sides of India - the urban marketplace of Mumbai contrasted with Bengal tigers in the wild. I entered two quilts in this year's show - this one and "Red Rubber Ball."

We're headed out tomorrow for our annual trip to see the Sauder show and to pick up our quilts. Lisa Wilson and Linda Kuhlman both won ribbons on the quilts they entered - YAY! Will post photos of them with their winning entries soon.

Going to the Sauder show with a group of friends is one of my favorite annual traditions. We stay for the whole day - buffet dinner at the Barn restaurant, quilt show, historic Sauder village, ice cream, and the quilt shop - and sometimes the antique store too.
