Camilla's blue daisy quilt
I've been working on this blue daisy quilt for Camilla for the last few weeks. Today I pieced together the blocks. It is mostly blue because that is Camilla's favorite color. I added other colors in the sashing cornerstones, copying the technique that Linda used in her music exchange quilt last year. I really like the way that the cornerstones in Linda's quilt pulled together her blocks, and I think it will work well in this quilt too. I still have to add sashing around the blocks and an outside border.
It has been a great birthday weekend for me. We went to a Ten Pd Fiddle concert on Friday, and last night a group of us went contradancing - exhausting but really fun! We'll have to do it again. :)
Today I played in the bell choir in church. We did two pieces - "Spirit of the Living God" for the voluntary and the Doxology for the offering. We played both pieces well (phewf), and our choir director was pleased. For Easter, we're going to play "Jesus Christ is Risen Today" -- lots of eighth notes on the alleluias which will take a lot of practice between now and then. I play two bass bells and two treble bells in that piece. I just love playing in the bell choir. It is amazing to me that I'm actually taking part in something musical and that it sounds so good. :) Gramma Stafford would be so pleased.
Tomorrow night I'm going to the charm potluck at Daisy's house (I'm taking broccoli-mushroom-olive salad) and then to Williamston Theatre to see Erin performing in a play. A good way to end my birthday weekend!

Sounds like a great plan to end your birthday weekend. Love the blue quilt and, you are right, the bright cornerstones really add spark. Thanks for sharing the picture --- it stays with me longer than a "show and tell".
