We're in Alaska!

We're finally in Alaskan waters - almost to Juneau! On Thursday, we went out to dinner with Scott Schmeck at Sorrentino's on Queen Anne. When we get back on Friday, Scott is taking us "everywhere" in Seattle on a whirlwind, one-day tour. :)

We had rough sailing Saturday - about half the people on the ship were seasick (including me, Mom, Catherine, and Donna Bea). Kelly and Debbie did fine tho. The captain changed course from the outside passage to the inside passage, so we're all fine now.

We've seen orcas and dolphins. Debbie also spotted Nessie, and she has a photo for proof.

During our first "day at sea" Debbie and I took an Alaskan cuisine class and learned how to make mushroom risotto, two bruschettas (olive tapenade and mushroom), Alaskan herb-crusted scallops, and rockfish. Today we're going to a sushi rolling class.

Scenery from the ship is beautiful - we are using up our digital photo cards taking a million photos of the snow-capped mountains.

  • I hope you all remembered to get your seasickness prescriptions before the voyage. I can't wait to see your pictures. Have a great time.
