St. Bonaventure - where there is doubt, faith

This block for my St. Francis quilt by Eileen is very meaningful. Eileen used the block "Green Mountain Star" to represent the beauty and serenity of the Allegheny Mountains, home of St. Bonaventure where she went to undergrad.

Eileen writes, "This prayer is near and dear to my heart. I graduated from St. Bonaventure University which is run by the Franciscan friars, descendants of St. Francis. St. Bonaventure University was a place where I felt comfortable to learn, grow and question. At Bona's, my faith grew more than I ever thought possible. It was truly home to me." Later in Michigan, Eileen found a "home" among our group of women quilters (with a special thanks to Phyllis for inviting her into our group). She writes, "I always feel welcome and cared for when I'm with all of you. I have learned more about quilting and much more thanks to the relationships I've formed as a result of block exchange. I chose the color blue because it represents faith. From the doubt of finding a new home and friends, comes faith."

Eileen - your words and your lovely block warm my heart. Thanks for your contribution to my St. Francis quilt!
