Olympics and hand-sewing
I usually don't do much hand-piecing or applique, but I have been working on a couple of hand-sewing projects during the last two weeks while watching the Olympics (and while riding to and from Indianapolis last week). Although it is a lot slower than machine-sewing, there is something very pleasurable about needlework by hand.
Here are two of my February QuiltALong blocks. Bonnie is giving us the March QuiltALong pattern at Daisy's charm group next week. I'm still trying to decide what color combo to use for the March blocks - maybe greens.

The Bamboo Koi top is pieced, and I'm now appliquing the koi fabric. It is too big to sew in my lap, so I'm working at my dining room table. I am a very slow appliquer, so this will take awhile!

Ruth - these are amazing!!! I am going to share with my sister. She is doing some very nice quilts these days, and also knitting up a storm.

Nice blocks. Don't you just love the Quilt Along? I can't wait to get the March block, hopefully tomorrow night. Between shoveling and a second coat of paint on the guest room walls, I managed to make a scrap pieced top for Heart Warmers at the March guild meeting.
