Geelong and cricket
We went to Geelong yesterday on Corio Quay. We had tea at the Pier and watched the ongoing Australia/India cricket Test match on TV - Day 2 and the Aussies are ahead. We're beginning to understand cricket - yay! After tea, Catherine and I went on the carousel. Jeff and Grace drove down from Lara and we all went to dinner at Smorgy's (a giant smorgasbord) on the pier overlooking the bay where we could watch the sailboats and pontoon planes. After dinner, Debbie, Sue and I drove up to Lara to visit with Jack and Rose.
Today, Charlie and Roger have gone into Melbourne to go to Day 3 of the cricket Test. Sue and Dianne are taking Debbie, Catherine and me for a drive to the ocean to see the Apostle rocks and other Victoria coastal sites. We've packed a picnic (no vegemite) and will be on our way soon. It is another beautiful day today - perfect weather for the beach. :)

Ruth, It sounds like you are having a fun, almost relaxing time, even though you are really doing many things. I'm enjoying reading your blog. I don't know about all this cricket, though. You'll have to explain it to all of us! It's cold here and pretty quiet at work.

Hi Ruth - I tried posting a comment from home last night, but something went awry!
So cool to hear about the cricket.. maybe the next time Deb and Cathering come visit you, we can field a First XI! We just have to find 7 other people, another whole team, and make sure they know about overs, lbw, and how to hit a six!!
Sounds like you're all having a terrific time. Looking forward to hearing about the Apostles.. that's on my list for when I win the lottery!
Got Rose and Jack's Christmas card today. Tell them Hi for me with best wishes for a Happy New Year to all of you.

1) It was 100 degrees yesterday and today will be hotter.
2) As well as more players we will need a few googlies, lots of stubbies and three sticks for a wicket.
3) The Indians have names so long that they don't fit on the scoreboard.
