Sistrum concert
Carol and I went to Irene's Sistrum women's chorus concert tonight. It was an inspiring concert with wonderful music, plus our friend Lisa danced an Israeli dance to the Israeli folksong, Adama. Yay Lisa and Irene!
Other highlights - Sally Potter leading the entire audience in "I'll Fly Away," Sistrum singing a beautiful rendition of "There is a Balm in Gilead," and my favorite of the night - their version of Holly Near's, "I Ain't Afraid."

I ain't afraid of your Yahweh,
I ain't afraid of your Allah,
I ain't afraid of your Jesus,
I'm afraid of what you do in the name of your god.
