IQf Chicago

Yesterday, a group of us from Capitol City Quilt Guild took a bus trip to Chicago to see the 2008 International Quilt Festival. Here's a photo of one of my favorite quilts at the show. I don't have any photos of people on the bus because the flash wasn't working on my camera at the time - much to the happiness of those who still had curlers in their hair and/or other early-morning dishabille. Fortunately, I got the flash working by the time we arrived at the show.

My thanks to all of you who helped me find the perfect batik fabrics for Rachel's wedding quilt. Three generations of Stafford women are going to help make the quilt, so it will be a special gift. We're using a variety of purple batiks for the background using the Sonata pattern, with yellow batik flowers appliqued over the background. I bought all of the yellow batiks and some of the purples at the Chicago show. The rest of the purple batiks are ones that my Mom bought for me in Montreal during her trip last year.
