Anatomy of a quilt design

Today I finished piecing and machine-appliqueing my small quilt for the Landscape Challenge.

Here are photos of the steps, starting with drafting the design on graph paper, piecing the background, and fusing and sewing on the applique pieces. Next step will be to machine-quilt and bind it. The challenge quilts are due in December, so I have time!

  • Your landscape quilt is very similar to the one I have festering in my head --- the tree sillouette (sp? --- I don't want to look it up and I don't have much confidence in my phonics!). I even have a picture on my phone --- not that I know how to open it, let alone download it someplace! I really like your quilt --- my colors, etc.
P.S.--- does it have to be quilted?!
