Progress on Rachel's quilt

I got the phone call from Bloomington today that the Stafford women finally finished sewing their blocks for Rachel's quilt. Yay! I finished the last of my blocks for the quilt here today too and laid them out for the photo. I'm taking all of the blocks to Minnesota in a couple weeks and will piece the top together then. Catherine is going to help with placement of the yellow flowers (we're doing fused applique over the purple batik blocks).

The Stafford boys -- Mark, Paul, Scott, and Joel -- are supposed to be sewing on the last block even as I write this. Debbie and Jane are helping them so I'm hopeful the final block will soon be completed. Sew like the wind, boys!

  • The quilt is going to be fantastic --- once again a reminder that simpler is often best! Hopefully the rest of the blocks will come in on time and be well sewn. I anxiously await the addition of the yellow flowers.
