Hopelessly Midwestern

Photos from Lansing Fourth of July parade. We walked in the parade with the Lansing Unleashed group promoting the dog park. Alexander and Allison walked Dora in the parade. Debra brought her dog, Gus, and Lisa brought Gennie. Two of the dog walkers had their macaws on their shoulders, so our group got a lot of attention!

When we got to the end of the parade, we walked back to watch the rest of the parade with Alexander's and Allison's parents and their baby brother Andrew. The low-riders put on a big show right in front of us.

Dora was petted by many children. She also found - and quickly ate - a stray hotdog that someone had dropped on the sidewalk. Debra and Gus came back to my house for lunch on the back deck - so nice to be able to use the new patio furniture! Tonight Tish and I are going to Cindy's for a Fourth of July picnic, followed by watching the fireworks displays down at the wetlands.
