Merry Christmas!
Merry Christmas Friends and Family! 2006 has been a good year.
I turned 50 in March.
In May-June, I traveled to Scotland and England with Tish. Really wonderful trip!
In July, I went to Vermont for the Vermont Quilt Festival and to visit Ellen Swain and her family and parents. One of my all-time best memories of the year is driving through Vermont with Ellen, John, Megan and Emily while the five of us belted out "I'm Gonna Be (500 miles)" to the Proclaimers on John's iPod.
Also in July, I went to Minnesota and we had a mini-Stafford reunion. For some reason, I never did get those photos on the blog. Maybe next year I'll be more diligent. Lots of dogs, quilts and woodpecker info on my blog this fall though.
Some of the books I've read and liked recently: Amy Tan's Saving Fish From Drowning, Jasper Fforde's The Fourth Bear (but you have to read The Big Over Easy first), Julian Barnes' Arthur and George, Ann Tyler's Digging to America, and books by Jonathan Lethem (thanks Tom for the recommendation).
Lots more if you want to read the blog. Next year I'll try to post more often. For those of you who use RSS, the RSS feed is http://rdukelow.blogspot.com/atom.xml And if any of you have set up your own blogs, please email me the URL or post in a comment below. Thanks!
I'm off to Minnesota for Christmas tomorrow. Hope to hear from all of you soon!
Happy New Year! Ruth
