Ballarat observatory and the gold store
Yesterday, Roger took us to see his friend's gold store. We got to hold gold nuggets mined in Ballarat and to see the jewelry his friend makes.
I tried a vegemite and cheddar sandwich - not bad, but I won't be bringing vegemite back with me...
At night, Sue and I went to the Ballarat observatory. We saw the Southern Cross (using the telescope, we could see the "jewel box" in the constellation). Also Orion (upside down for us - they call it the "saucepan"), the Pleiades, Betegeuse, Taurus, and Aries. We saw three shooting stars too.
[Note for Tish: Sue's car is Honda Jazz!]
