Melbourne Zoo
We went to the Melbourne Zoo yesterday. Very glad that it wasn't as hot yesterday as it is today (42c - that's 106 farenheit). We saw Australian animals, including my favorite the platypus. Charlie kept an eye on Catherine and we didn't lose her there. [Roger is helping me write this post.] Great trip to the Zoo!
After the Zoo we drove into Melbourne to Vic Market. Bought some gifts.
Today Dianne, Sue, Debbie and I went to Bird World to see Australian birds. The red-tailed black cockatoos sat on our shoulders (one tried to steal my earring and one sat on top of Sue's head). While we were at Bird World, Roger took Charlie and Catherine to play mini-golf. :)
We're now indoors to escape the heat. Tonight is New Year's Eve - 2007 is almost over!
[Note to Tish: we haven't yet seen a twit wearing a hanky, but we did see a man at Sovereign Hill wearing a suit made entirely out of tea towels...]

Just saw the fireworks at Sydney Harbour, so Happy New Year to all of you!! We have 15 more hours yet!
I remember the market in Melbourne.. did you have a coffee by the river? (PS if you find any Oz Christmas decorations, I'd love one as a memento:)
Hope you got a pic of the tea towel suit! What a gorgeous photo of the three of you with the koalas - looks like you're having an awesome trip.
Patriots are 16 - 0, undefeated in regular season. Vikings are out, just lost in overtime. John Edwards has just edged ahead in the polls just prior to the Iowa primary. More snow tonight - we've had about 12 inches since you left.
Look forward to more travel updates.
Love,
Tish
