Happy New Year!
Happy New Year!
I've been trying to come up with New Year's resolutions and finally decided that my goal will be to complete at least five of my ten "in progress" quilt projects.
Over the past nine years, I've reduced the number of works in progress from more than 20 to ten. But the problem is that I keep starting new projects. Last January 1st, I had 11 projects in progress. During 2009, I completed ten quilts, but by Jan 1st, 2010, I still had ten projects in progress -- arrgh! When a new project beckons, there is no way to resist its siren call, so (short of tying myself to a mast), I've got to work twice as hard this year to complete those old projects from the 1990s.
One of the projects I've been working on since 2005 is this Horses baby quilt. A few weeks ago, I found out that my horse-loving friend Cheryl and her husband have been trying to adopt a baby from China since 2005. So it seemed like fate that I needed to finish this baby quilt and give it to her. Until they're able to adopt their baby, they can pack it away or use it as a wall hanging. I'm hand-quilting this one, so it will take me a few weeks to finish. I'm setting Jan. 31st as my goal to complete this one. Then I'll pick one of my 1990s projects for February. Will keep you all posted. :)
Debbie gave me some great fabric for Xmas - yellow "police line - do not cross) tape on black. I'm itching to use it in something ... maybe my "Sadie & Dora" quilt that will be my Block Exchange block for 2010 (and anyone else's block who allows novelty fabric...).
