We're in London!

Tish and I are in London! We flew in this morning, and Jan picked us up at the Gatwick airport. Jan made us prawn sandwiches and tea, and then Tish and I took the tube - the Picadilly Line - to Russell Square. It is raining, so we toured the British Museum and saw the Rosetta Stone and the Elgin marbles and tons of other artifacts. Then we walked up to the British Library where we saw the Magna Carta, Shakespeare folios, the original Alice in Wonderland, James Joyce's manuscripts, illuminated manuscripts, and some original Beatles' lyrics written on napkins.

After that, we went to King's Cross station and took photos at Platform 9 3/4. They had so many people looking for 9 3/4 that they put up a sign. Then we took the tube from King's Cross back to Jan's and picked up dinner at a fish and chips shop.

Tomorrow, we're going to try to see Judy Dench's performance in a Noel Coward play. Jan thinks that tickets will be available. We're hoping that our jet lag will have worn off by then.
