Oxford
Yay - Internet access again! I'm in an Internet cafe in Oxford. We just spent the morning driving around the Cotswolds - thatched houses, gardens, Sudeley castle, and stone circles.
Over the past few days we drove through the Highlands through Glencoe and spent a sunny afternoon on Loch Lomond. We were in the Lake District for two days where we hiked to the top of a waterfall, Aira Force, on Ullswater, took sunset cruise on Lake Windermere, and visited Beatrix Potter Gallery in Hawkshead and her home Hill Top in Sawrey (saw some of her original paintings from Jeremy Fisher and other books, and manuscript pages from Fairy Caravan).
We're staying at a farm outside of Stratford-upon-Avon in Dorsington, Church Farm. Last night we went to the Royal Shakespeare Theatre to see 'Julius Caesar.' Also went to Shakespeare's birthplace. And, of course, many pub meals and different bitters, ales, and lagers added to our tally.
Tomorrow we drive down through the Cotswolds to Bath and to see Stonehenge. Then back to London for our last couple days. This has been a wonderful, wonderful trip. We can't believe our luck with so much sunshine.
